Qingjiu
Qingjiu is a cozy sushi bar in Maizidian with floor-to-ceiling windows and several private dining rooms for groups. The thick menu includes sashimi, tempura, grilled seafood, sukiyaki, and sea urchin hot pot (RMB 298). Some of the more special fish items are delivered several times throughout the week directly from Nagasaki.

Just like its name, this Gongti establishment is refreshingly simple – no gimmicks, just regular beers, pub grub, and sports. The venue is spacious with several dozen seats inside, drinks are affordable, and a few huge LED TVs broadcast the hottest games and must-see matches. Fans of the now defunct Den or Paddy O'Shea's are likely to find a new home in Joe's.

Deep in the embassy district, down an alleyway opposite the US embassy lies one of Beijing's best terraces. Casual French restaurant Bistro 108 and its neighboring restaurants (including Italian trattoria La Villa) share a long terrace that is one of the hottest spots for dining and drinking during Beijing summers. Three-Starred Japanese Dessert Bar Toshi Yoroizuka opens a branch in Beijing. There are only two options for dining in people, course A: small dish and main dish, with beverage (except for champagne) for RMB 330; or course B: small dish and two main dishes, with beverage for RMB 550, including the service charge. There are six main dishes, and you can choose one, such as Dessert Caprese, Lemon Souffle, Gorgonzola Pistache, Dessert Mont-Blanc and Mango Risotto.
