I've been here twice and was impressed on both occasions. An extended session in here is going to cost you several hundred kuai, but at the moment it's the top place in Sanlitun for a really good drink, assuming you don't mind paying RMB 50-60 for the pleasure. d lounge - arguably better designed and primed to attract a similar clientele to Apothecary - has attracted derision and complaints for an unevenly applied door policy. Apothecary now seems to be the current bar of the moment, and hopefully won't alienate people with silly rules or unnecessary exclusionary policies.

Haven't tried the food but when I went last it was packed, with about half of the customers in for dinner. On the down side, my friend wasn't too impressed that there was no wine - I know they're a cocktail bar, but they should have a few wines and alternatives for people who've been dragged in by cocktail fiends. Still, looking forward to going back a few times more, and hoping this place maintains the momentum it's started out with. Keep up the good work.
