Qianmen and Dashilan'r-前门大栅栏

Expansive whiskey bar hidden within a converted courtyard house on Yanjia Hutong (hence the name) in the Dashilar area. Awarded for Best Whiskey Menu at the 2023 North Regional DRiNK Awards.

One of three locations of the Beijing Railway Museum, this one is located near Qianmen in the former Beijing Railway Station. Inside you'll find an overview of the history of China's railways (mostly in Chinese with some English descriptions), miniatures of a few of the country's glitziest railway stations, as well as a high-speed train simulator and cool gift shop.

Located in Xi Xinglong Hutong, Qianmen Kitchen by Black Sesame Kitchen (BSK) is a culinary journey through the Silk Road. Chef Aifeng Zhang heads the kitchen with his noodle expertise and BSK founder Lin-Liu weaves recipes from her book “On the Noodle Road” into the mix.

This elegant and creative Qianmen lounge will leave you pleasantly speechless with its solid whiskey menu, three menu pages loaded with signature cocktails, and its skilled bartender from one of Taipei’s most famous bars. On top of all that, this bar has three — count ‘em, three — floors, each with elegant decor and a distinctive style from the others, when most bars only manage to pull off one sole motif (if that).

This Qianmen-adjacent restaurant serves Guizhou dim sum with inventive sauces in a tapas presentation. The drink menu is loaded with creative rice wine cocktails. Its owner made a name for herself with the now closed Ramo and The Box.

The Beijing Opera Museum is located within the former Huguang Provincial Guild, a venue that used to accommodate scholars, businessmen, and musicians from Hunan and Hubei provinces during their stately visits to Beijing around 200 years ago. Sitting adjacent to the guild’s pavilions, the museum shares its neighbor's cultured vibe and documents the history and development of the Peking opera via traditional costumes, photographs, and videos of iconic opera scenes.
