International Day Against Homophobia

No battle can be won in isolation. The LGBT community has learned to build alliances, especially to fight against violence, lobby for legal change, and campaign to change hearts and minds. Because the rights of one specific group cannot be solidly secured if the rights of other groups are left unchallenged, LGBT groups have often become allies to other vulnerable groups, including migrants, people living in poverty, racial and ethnic minority groups, etc.
In honor of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT), the Beijing American Center has invited a panel of representatives from the LGBT community to discuss how forming alliances has led to success. Join us for this opportunity to learn from these organizations as they share their experiences. This program will be conducted in English.
