An 8-time Grammy nominee, Sutton has received 7 consecutive nominations for “Best Jazz Vocal Album”- a nomination for every project she has released for the last decade. In 2013 she released After Blue, a jazz-inspired re-imagining of the legacy of Joni Mitchell. The album received wide acclaim and was Sutton’s breakout as a leader without her longtime Band and features Al Jarreau, Hubert Laws, Peter Erskine, Larry Goldings, Mark Summer, Kevin Axt, Serge Merlaud and The Turtle Island String Quartet. Sutton’s “After Blue: The Joni Mitchell Project” continues to tour the world.

With a recording and touring history spanning over 20 years and 9 CDs, The Tierney Sutton Band, “TSB” has traveled a rare path. Comprised of Sutton and instrumental virtuosos Kevin Axt, Ray Brinker, Trey Henry and Christian Jacob, the band functions as a true collaborative (and legally incorporated) unit and makes all musical as well as business decisions as partners. In 2011 the TSB received a Grammy nomination for it’s collaborative arranging, the only collaborative team ever to receive that honor. See her at Blue Note on June 30th and July 1st.

Remarkable. Infectious. Soulful. Just some of the words critics have used to describe Stop Time, the latest album by singer, songwriter and pianist Jon Regen.

Produced by Mitchell Froom (Crowded House, Paul McCartney), and featuring Davey Faragher and Pete Thomas from Elvis Costello and the Imposters, Stop Time finds Regen at the peak of his songwriting and pianistic powers, with ten original tunes that brim with humor and heart. In the words of fellow singer and pianist Jamie Cullum, "Jon Regen is a great musician...he's got all those fantastic jazz chops down but he's also a great songwriter and singer in the style of people like Randy Newman and Bob Dorough.”

A protégé of the legendary pianist Kenny Barron, Jon Regen began his career as a sideman to jazz artists like Kyle Eastwood and Little Jimmy Scott. After releasing a series of instrumental jazz recordings, Regen made an abrupt left turn in 2004 and released the singer/songwriter EP Almost Home. Recorded in a single day, the album won immediate acclaim and formally announced Regen’s arrival onto the worldwide concert stage. Regen followed the EP with his full-length 2008 release Let It Go, which featured Andy Summers of the Police and Martha Wainwright. Regen returned in 2011 with his album Revolution, featuring contributions again from Summers, along with Benmont Tench from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty. The album received rave reviews the world over. USA Today called the title track “bluesy and plucky,” the Philadelphia Inquirer pronounced Regen “a supremely accomplished pop artist,” and JazzTimes described Regen's music “as potent as anything crafted by Sting.” Regen also hit Number One on the Billboard Charts with his 2013 instrumental album Change Your Mind.

In the course of three decades, Mack Avenue recording artist John Beasley has carved an enviable reputation – or actually, two reputations. First and foremost, he is an uncommonly versatile, unerringly exciting pianist who has worked with such music icons as Miles Davis and Freddie Hubbard – playing in the bands of both these trumpet legends while still in his 20s – as well as with Herbie Hancock Steely Dan, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Christian McBride, Chaka Khan (and even, for one night, with James Brown). But Beasley is also an accomplished composer, and a distinctive arranger who works regularly with in film and television, earning five GRAMMY nominations and an Emmy nod along the way. And he has worked extensively on soundtracks, primarily those of famed film scorer Thomas Newman, including the James Bond hits Spectre and Skyfall.
