So more than half a year after our seminal event back in January we are finally back with BYOV in the courtyard at El Nido. This time round the event will form the first day of our week long 10 year anniversary party. BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) is the perfect event for vinyl enthusiasts to show off their record collections and play songs from their favorite 45s and LPs using our in-house turntables. If you have records and no turntable, this is also an opportunity for you to show off your wares. If you have no records, you’re welcome to just simply sit back and groove to the improvised playlists. For those who are not familiar with the equipment, our veteran DJs will assist you with the turntables and mixer.

There is something special about listening to records with turntables. In the age of uniform-sounding 128 kbps mp3s, the physicality of records allows for a unique listening experience. You are more likely to pay attention to the generation the label and the musicians involved in the production, and appreciate more closely the design, artwork and recording quality of the record. Turntables trigger memories of the Golden Age, and are often used as a tool for mixing and scratching, inviting you to experience a rawer form of music appreciation. You never know what you’re going to hear, but whatever you’re hearing, it is the sound of history.

We aim to bring together a community of music lovers to have fun and communicate. No matter if you are a music nerd who wants to exchange knowledge and experience of your collection, or an up-and-coming vinyl DJ looking to improve your skills, or just someone who likes to share and enjoy, this is a pressure-free space for you to express yourself and to meet like-minded folks.

Dave Ye-piano & vocal

A famous pop and jazz musician from Beijing. Ye Zheng, who was trained in classical piano, taught himself jazz piano out of love. In addition, his vocal interpretation of American classic popular jazz songs has always shocked the audience. His magnetic bass makes the illusion that he is listening to Nat King Cole or Dick Haymes.

Classically trained pianist who taught himself jazz piano out of passion, the accomplished pop and jazz musician from Beijing also never fails to stun audiences with his deep baritone voice on the American songbook, an immediate reminder of vocal greats such as Nat King Cole and Dick Haymes .

Milonga is the social event where Argentina tango is danced. Tango by Ala House hosts the milonga "Los Vinos" every Sunday afternoon.

The music played is mainly tango, vals and milonga. Usually, 3-4 songs of a kind are played in a row (called tanda) followed by a short musical break (called cortina) to clear the dance floor and facilitate partner changes.

In recent months, Li Jianhong has developed some new things at home: bugs and birds in the yard, circuit interference, and guitar feedback. I don't know if it is suitable for live performances, but you can give it a try.

Kaoru Abe has no future (Liu Lu, Zhao Cong, Zhu Wenbo) will perform several new songs, as well as simplified old songs.
