In the name of different people and objects, four composers, who integrate art and music works, express to us the stream of consciousness in their minds, and something that can hardly be named. Then to feel, to touch, to listen to the protogenous truth and chaos.By transcending the state of language, interpretation, form, and arbitrary rules or frameworks.

“In this show our purpose is to bring the audience outside of their present world, beyond time. So for the audience we are the guest from heaven. That is where the name come from. These four pieces are interrelated and inseparable to each other, It is also a clue through the varying forms of art to express the "stream of consciousness", in the name of dancer (Kazuo Ohno), in the name of the author (Marcel Proust), also, in the name of cannot name, produced by the collection of music, performance, performance art, multimedia experimental electronic music as one of the show. We hope it is not only an concert, but also a practice, an collection, and a tribute to all the artworks of consciousness by combining the power of music.”

Burnett Thompson, pianist, composer, educator, lives near Washington, DC. April 2013 marked his 11th tour of China, including lectures and performances in Xiamen, Ningbo, Chengdu, Wuhan, Shenyang, Dalian, and Shanghai. He has been funded by the U.S. State Department, and is on the Fulbright Specialist Program roster. The premiere of his Shakespeare Sonnet Song Cycle was performed in Mandarin in April, 2011. Mr. Thompson speaks Mandarin and German. He is currently producer of the Piano in the White House and Hill Center concert series.

Come to School Bar tonight to check out and support punk dudes from Sydney C.O.F.F.I.N.! The band is currently on a 20+ city tour of Asia, and this evening kick off the 11 city China leg with their Beijing stop. C.O.F.F.I.N. released their debut full length in 2011 while still in high school and later followed it up albums in 2013 and 2016. In 2015 the guys toured the US for the first time, and are now set to bring their brand of fast paced punk rock with a dash of metal to China. Their solid tunes and crazy onstage antics must be seen live!

Support comes in the form of spastic hardcore foursome Struggle Session and fun loving ska punks Uncle Bad!

Last year School Bar held it's first official Jam Night! Jam sessions between musicians and fans happen quite often in the wee hours of the morning many times at School. Because everybody always has such a great time, we are making it official and once or twice each month holding jam nights at School Bar.

In April join us on the 17th for an evening of drinking and jamming!

The "Sound of the Xity" festival once again converges on School Bar this year for three great shows. Thursday night the stage is given to four young bands with loads of talent looking to make a bigger name for themselves - "Young Blood Night - and the band who puts on the best performance will be given a slot at the upcoming Beijing Strawberry Music Festival. Friday night the fun continues with another packed line-up of bands. Saturday is the "Sound of the Xity" official after party, and it is bound to get pretty crazy.

Super School Fighter is the brainchild of GeiGei, aka Gu Jingping, aka Quick Shot signer, and aka long-time staple of the Beijing music scene. For the past 4+ years she has been booking gigs at School via her Super School Fighter project, and over the last couple years has settled into booking almost every Thursday evening show at School. Starting last summer SSF expanded beyond Beijing, and now books weekly/monthly shows in Shanghai, Chengdu, Xiamen, Wuhan, and elsewhere around China as well. With an eye out for new talent and wanting to discover bands just getting started, don't miss these Thursday shows in March at School Bar.
