Zhang Jing, a contemporary Chinese jazz guitarist covering various music genres, from the southern metal core "Liu Dao Mu", Hip-Hop artist Man Shuk, Dubstep band "Jing Hua Yuan "to jazz.


In 2012, he received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Music Performance from Xinghai Conservatory of Music. In 2016, he got a Jazz Guitar master's degree in NIU, the USA with free tuition in his postgraduate stage. In 2017, the new EP "Prelude to a Doom" was completed with his metal band "Liu Dao Mu" and was released in September. In June, he made the recording of his album "Untitled" and it was planned to be released at the end of 2017. Now he is also a tutor of guitar in Beijing Contemporary Music Academy.

Satoshi Kataoka


Satoshi Kataoka is a guitarist, composer and arranger living in New York City. He attended the Jazz Performance program at The City College of New York where he studied with world acknowledged musicians like, John Patittuci, Mike Holober, Scott Reeves and many others.
Satoshi has had opportunities to play with some great players such as John McNeil (Horace Silver, Tom Harrell, Billy Hart, Bob Brookmeyer), Joe Martin (Chris Potter, Brad Mehldau, Fred Hersch, Maria Schneider), Jochen Rueckert (Mark Turner, Marc Copland, Pat Metheny, Sam Yahel) and many more.
In 2015, he has released his first album, “Fall Into the Place” which consists of all his original pieces from the Surca music. The album recorded with Adam Kolker (Billy Hart, Paul Motian), Pablo Menares (Melissa Aldana’s Crush trio, Claudia Acuna) and Allan Mednard (Kurt Rosenwinkel, Aaron Parks).
He has been actively playing in the city since the college years at the venues such as Iridium, Smalls, Fatcat, Cornelia St Cafe,ShapeShifter Lab and many other places. He also has been invited to play some jazz festivals in China such as Hangzhou jazz festival, and given masterclasses in Beijing, Shanghai.
He's been playing in some different groups with musicians such as Allan Mednard, Pablo Menares, Glenn Zaleski (current pianist in Ravi Coltrane’s), Simona Premazzi(current pianist in Greg Osby’s and Jeremy Pelt’) and many more,as well as his own trio, quartet, quintet and larger ensemble.

Antonio Fusco is one of the most important and original drummers of the European Jazz scene. Always supportive and focused on new trends in jazz and music in general, he’s currently involved in various European project, including: Giovanni Falzone Contemporary Orchestra, Tino Tracanna Acrobats, Reem Kelani Band, Henrik Jensen Followed By Thirteen. In 2011 he founded the project - Antonio Fusco Sextet- Suite for Motian and in 2014 it was released with the Italian label Auditorium Parco Della Musica Records, getting great approval from the national critic. The 2014 is also the beginning of a new trio NS3 project with two brilliant musicians of the UK jazz scene: the pianist Bruno Heinen and the Danish bassist Henrik Jensen.

Peking Floyd is Beijing’s Premier Pink Floyd tribute band. NEKROMA (Art Rock, Experimental)


Nekroma is an experimental art rock quartet based in Beijing. While the group began as a collaboration between the bands Nakoma and the GUIGUISUISUI, Nekroma has taken on its style and identity distinct from the two bands that forged it. Drawing on a range of influences from all over the globe Nekroma utilizes vocals, skateboard guitar, drums, bass, electronic samples, and synths to create a backdrop for carnival of intriguing characters including King Necro, Pumpkin Queen, Diavolo Rosso, and The Hanged Man. On record they present twisted fairty tales and Lovecraftian fantasies, while live they mix theatricality akin to a silent horror film with digital painting created in real time and projected over the band, creating a feedback loop between sight and sound. Nekroma beckons.


Rhonda (Prog Rock, Math Rock)


Rhonda is a music project started in 2014 in Beijing by 4 friends coming from Italyand USA. Drawing influences from post-rock, post-punk, progressive metal and math rock, they have dedicated themselves to create instrumental music which combines melody and aggression. After a couple line-up changes following the departure of two of their original members, the band now consists of Tommaso (guitar), Nico (bass), Yiyi (drums), Antoine (guitar).

Joe Longardner has recently relocated to Beijing, China. Joe has been living in China for the past 5 years performing and teaching Jazz Music. Joe has performed his original music in some of Asia’s top Jazz Clubs in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul and Bangkok and has performed in a few European and Asian Jazz Festivals.


Doug Martin


American guitarist, Doug Martin, started studying music at age 12. For the first few years of playing he studied rock and blues guitar. His early influences at that time were wide ranging from Joe Satriani, to Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Rush, as well as Freddy King and others. His early blues influences naturally led him to discover notable jazz pioneers such as Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt and George Benson.


Dan Callaghan


Dan Callaghan is one of Ireland's finest double bass players. He graduated with an Honours BA in Jazz Performance from Newpark Music Centre,Ireland in 2010. He has been working as aprofessional musician for the last seven years and has performed and recorded with many of Ireland's leading jazz musicians including Leopoldo Osio, Dig a Little Deeper, Guiliano Nistri, Mike Nielson, Hugh Buckley and Richie Buckley.


Fiach Ó Briain


2015 Fiach relocated to Beijing and since then has been an active member of the Beijing music scene, performing with artist of many styles including Tia Ray, 斯琴格日乐,and 王韵壹. Fiach has also performed with many International musicians touring in China such as Laurent Maur etc.

China’s premier gypsy jazz ensemble, The Hot Club of Beijing was founded in Beijing on January 23rd2010. This date marks the 100th birthday of gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt who is credited as being the creator of gypsy jazz as well as founder of the legendary band The Hot Club of France.


The Hot Club of Beijing is truly a time machine band, which takes listeners on a journey back to the 30s / 40s. They continue to carry on the tradition of legend Django Reinhardt as well as perform traditional gypsy waltzes, American swing classics, fiery Latin pieces and even traditional Chinese and Italian tunes. This melting pot of influences creates aunique experience you never been before.


Since its inception, The Hot Club of Beijing has been extremely active all over China. They took apart in lots of festivals, like Dali Music Festival, Tianjin Hanma Festival and so on.They also worked with many famous brands, like Ferrari, Louis Vuitton, Air France, INSTITUT FRANÇAIS. In 2012 and 2013 and 2017 the band won the category for Best Local Band in the Beijing City Weekend Reader’ s Choice Awards three times.


The HCOB released their live CD recorded at Dusk Dawn Club (DDC) in 2016 and in summer of 2017 the band released their studio album entitled Autumn Leaves.

Vince Vahram - Singer, Rhythm Guitar


Born in Nice, France, grew up in a music lover family, who taught him his first guitar chords, through Italian and French chanson and Jazz. He started to learn about the gypsy jazz universe, its origins and heritage, and soon started to learn strong basics and fundamentals of the gypsy jazz guitar rhythm technique called Pompe, to be able to take part in jam session and as well to sing along some American and French jazz standards.


In 2007Vince went to China, where he collaborated with many musician of the Beijing music scene, then joined the band Mademoiselle et son Orchestre to bring with Selmer style guitar a new gypsy jazz energy and flavor to the French chanson repertoire. In 2010, Vince founded the Hot Club of Beijing.



Douglas Martin - Guitar


American guitarist Doug Martin started studying music at age 12. For the first few years of playing he studied rock and blues guitar, then he learned classical guitar.In 2006 Doug began to seriously study gypsy jazz, also made masterclasses with gypsy jazz guitarist master Paul Mehling.


Doug has played all over the world and also got the opportunity to meet many of the world’s top guitarists including Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Thompson, Lollo Meier, Hank Marvin, and Larry Carlton and more.


Claude Azizaj - Drums


Claude Azizaj is a professional drummer, percussionist and music professor.Graduated in modern music at Philippos Nakas College of Music in Athens (2003) and in classical percussion at the National Conservatory of Athens (2009) with a great performance and honorary mentions. In 2004 he received a scholarship from Berklee College of Music. He has taken master classes from masters such as Jimmy Cobb, Peter Erskine, Yoron Israel and Ralph Peterson.


Pikar Rozi - Double Bass


From west of China – Xinjiang, Pikar began his career as a bassist at the age of 17. Arrived Beijing in2002 and took part in the local music scene as a solid bass player, and joined the famous Xingjiang rock bandAskar &Grey Wolf, and toured all around China and worldwide.


Pikar fell into Jazz and Gypsy Jazz in 2009 and then he decided to learn double bass. In 2010 he joined the newly founded Hot Club of Beijing and fully dedicated himself on the traditional basics of swing music. Now Pikar is one of the best double bass player in China for Gypsy Jazz; he mixed solid jazz fundamentals and a full range of excellent rhythm skills he got from Xinjiang roots, from oriental and middle-east to Latin grooves.


Toni Moretso - Clarinet


Toni Moretso has been studying classical clarinet at the music school in Paris since the age of eight. From 2003 to 2007, he played in numerous jazz bands in Paris, and established jazz music's Pave jazz non-governmental organization through concerts, teaching and cross-art performances. He was one of the founding members of the Beijing hot club and became an important member of the band. He has also been working with the music project, such as Soul Tang, or Song Yuzhe live film concert, held by Beijing Goethe institute and the momma art center.

The members of 798 Piano Trio Chamber Orchestra are all outstanding musicians from Beijing Symphony Orchestra and universities in Beijing. With rich knowledge of music, elegant taste of music, and warm & delicate playing style, they pursue harmony and unity in the style of music, have a strong cohesion and played many different styles of chamber music from Baroque to modern music. Since it was established more than three years ago, its members have successfully performed in many universities, theaters and concert halls such as the “Combined Chinese and Western Style” concert held at Tianjin Concert Hall in August 2015 and the “Dancing Music Salon” organized in Beijing in March 2016, which have received wide attention and praise of the industry.
