Post-punk pioneers Re-Tros are heading back out on tour in support of their long-awaited album Before the Applause. The band was deeply influenced by groups like Bauhaus, Joy Division and Gang of Four, and have been together since 2003. The new tour will allow them to play their new album live, uncut before its official release.

Broadening the shape and boundaries of the duo’s previous band, Inner Mongolian folk rock outfit Horse Radio, the drums-guitar duo that makes up december3am plays in the realm of post rock and experimental krautrock forming a sound that’s unlike anything else. December3am’s set that these two are operating on a higher stratosphere than most musicians. It’s dark, hauntingly beautiful, unpredictable, and striking stuff and me thinks this is only just the beginning of what the band has to offer. Again, moments like this make putting together these events so special.

The Qin Jinnan Jazz Trio is fronted by violinist and jazz guitarist Qin Jiannan, who has played guitar everywhere from Broadway in New York all the way to Beijing. He’s joined saxophonist Shi Yuji, who has been playing the saxophone since he was 17 and has participated in multiple important jazz festivals, and bassist Hu Hao, who has been playing professionally for more than ten years, also playing in multiple international festivals and taught a course on popular music at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music.
