Satoshi Kataoka, an excellent guitarist, composer, and composer who lives and works in New York, at The City College of New York Specializing in jazz performance, he studied with world-renowned musicians such as John Patituci, Mike Holober, Scott Reeves and others.

In 2015, he released his debut album "Fall Into the Place," which was released by American music label Surca and Apollo Sounds. The album features Adam Kolker (BillyHart, Paul Motian), Pablo Menares (Melissa Aldana's Crush trio, Claudia Acuna) and Allan Mednard (Kurt Rosenwinkel, Aaron Parks).

After a long hiatus, Beijing-New Orleans-based DIY music collective Seippelabel is back with an exciting night of live music. From the get-go, Seippelabel has strived to incorporate international and Chinese artists via live shows and music releases. Layers Upon Layers is a multi-genre musical experience showcasing electronic artists tamiX & Gu Yongjian, indie-hip hop producer Worst Vibes (formerly 1/2 of the Shanghai spazz-punk outfit Pairs), and the always-vibrant antics of Beijing punk band Pizzaface披萨脸. The event celebrates the diversity of these captivating artists and opens the stage for a new string of exciting releases for the label in 2024.

About the Artists:

tamiX & Gu Yongjian:

This performance is the first collaboration between tamiX and Gu, which stems from their shared love for synthesizers and ambient music. This performance will be a huge collision of improv. synthesizer melody and improv. jazz drum rhythm, which may collide with a large amount of dark matter enough to destroy the world.

Worst Vibes:

Worst Vibes is a hyperactive and welcoming rapper & music produce just off the cusp of releasing his debut album, Second Storey Over Wires. The album explores deep nostalgic themes along with vulnerable stream-of-conscious confessions. Worst Vibes' music portrays a litany of themes that include what it is like to be unable to switch ones brain off, spending formative years on music forums, a deep love for nu-metal, and a distrust of vague inspirational quotes.

Worst Vibes has been in various bands, such as Pairs, Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes, and Thug Mills. He has toured internationally to China, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Australia. Worst Vibes got tired of carrying music gear and aligning schedules with other musicians and, as a result decided to make music by himself where he could follow his inspiration wherever it took him.

Worst Vibes' live show is one of pure upbeat energy that encourages anyone and everyone to dance and enjoy themselves. It is a performance not to be missed!

Pizzaface披萨脸:

Pizzaface 披萨脸 is a Beijing-based punk outfit formed in 2018. They have been described as a sweet, incendiary bomb that’s gone off the rails. Provided by their name, they give off an air of adolescent sleepless nights with acne, and the courage to always dare to say “no”. The band injects a waltz-like dream-pop feel into punk music, seemingly drunk with oxygen on a sleepless mountain. They have had a total of more than 180 performances since their formation, including Strawberry Music Festival, Midi Music Festival, Impact City Sound Music Festival, and Trojan Music Festival, just to name a few. On January 1st, 2020, the EP "Blade Wings" was independently produced and released followed by a national tour that same year. The group has won the LPA Independent Music 2019-2021 Most Potential Punk Band Award and the 2021 SCHOOL Best Live Band Award. Their songs include "If One Day You Are Taken Away by Rock and Roll", "Harley Rabbit", "BOMBCITY" and more than 30 other tracks. Pizzaface披萨脸 invites you to experience their music. Their tunes will give you the softest embrace and the hardest smack with a bat; a most desired gift!

About Seippelabel:

Seippelabel is a digital platform that showcases artists the founders have come into contact with over the years and know on a personal basis. We are currently dually based in Beijing and New Orleans. One of our goals is to represent and support the creative outlets of our friends, whether it be sonic or visual. Seippelabel strives to foster a community of artists across the globe.

Legacy:

From 2015 to 2019, Seippelabel released ten compilations and organized over ten events in China and the United States. In 2015, Chinese artists were hard to find on BandCamp, and the initial idea was to make more Chinese artist visible to foreigner audiences while making underground international artist more known to the domestic crowd. Therefore, Vol. 1 was born. Fast forward to Seippelabel Vol. 10, arguably the first footwork compilation showcasing almost entirely Chinese artists.

Into the Future:

Seippelabel is stepping into 2024 with six new releases from an all-star cast of experimental artists and an outstanding ambient compilation in the works. More to come!

Flamenco dance, as the most popular dance in the world today, is a combination of gypsy culture and Spanish Andalusian folk culture. In its early evolution, flamenco was influenced by the earliest East Indian dances (such as squats, She was influenced by her outstretched legs, wide body and arm bends, open fingers, quick turns, drumbeat beats on her feet, etc.) and Arabic dance (finger beats, use of tambourines, and her unique costumes).
