Lucky Street’s newest Italian restaurant occupies over two floors, yet still manages to feel intimate – imported pasta noodles and liquor line the shelves, while images of Italy festoon the walls and austere chandeliers hang from the ceiling. The fare follows the lead of the décor: simple and authentic, with high-quality ingredients and sensible portions. Cheese buffs will take pleasure in their generously topped thin-crust pizzas (starting from RMB 48), along with their eggplant pie appetizer (RMB 35), which oozes with melted mozzarella. The pastas (starting from RMB 38) offer a great selection – with many of the noodles homemade – but for those trying to cut down on carbs, pricier meat and seafood entrees (up to RMB 320) are also available. Salads come fairly priced and chock full of fresh greens. But the meal wouldn’t be complete without wine – and luckily, Di Napoli has a private wine room set aside with free sommelier service.
