Three years ago, The Hunters were founded (under the name Violette & the Hunters). Throughout the following few years, they solidified themselves as an explosive cover band, frequently performing around the expat music scene weekend after weekend. Last year, after requests from fans as well as some criticism for only playing cover tunes; the band decided to take the next step in their musical journey and started writing some original music. Three years and several line-up changes later; The Hunters are proud to announce the release of their highly anticipated first EP; “Blacklight.” Blacklight includes 5 all original songs written and performed by The Hunters. Recorded and mixed at Pro Soul Studios, this EP is a culmination of hard work, excellent chemistry, and musical creativity. Whilst the EP may only feature 5 songs, it packs a strong musical punch with catchy tunes and expressive lyrics. A mix of funk, pop, rock, and dance, this EP has something for everyone. Veteran musicians will also appreciate the technicalities of the songs; whether it’s 7/8 time signatures, impressive vocal harmonies, intricate drum rhythms, dramatic effects from the keys, elaborate bass lines, or catchy guitar melodies.
And what better venue to debut this EP than at DDC; a second home to The Hunters whom frequently perform at this amazing venue. Joined by Disaster Chat, an amazing all original band that also frequently performs alongside The Hunters, audiences will be treated to a night of great music.
