Rumble in the Jumble was born in July last year. Inspired by British jumble sales and American thrift stalls, with a splash of Chinese characteristics thrown in for good measure, it has grown into a fabulous bazaar featuring its own unique mix of new, old and handmade goodies. We have seen ideas grow into businesses, crafts galore and people selling anything they can't fit into a suitcase before they leave China for good. We have had ten-minute portraits, tarot card reading, buskers. And cake. Oh, yes, there has been cake.

So, with this in mind Rumble in the Jumble staff wanted to do something special to mark their very first birthday so on August 26th, they will be holding a Rumble in the Jumble's 1st Birthday party at Modernista, 44 Baochao Hutong.

Well, not only will it have all the bells, bottles and bubbles you have come to expect from our usual brand of market, we will also be having a party afterward, with music, face painting from the Rumble crew, and competitions to win goodies from our fabulous vendors (and maybe some other people, too).
