On Thursday 21st December, Yichang Café is pleased to welcome two classical musicians to perform a varied repertoire comprised of works by J.S. Bach, Purcell, and Schubert and more.

Mark began studying the piano when he was six years old. Originally a student of Judy Rodwell, as Mark advanced he received training from Paul Bissacia, a concert pianist who performs in the USA and Europe. Mark received additional training on the Organ under the instruction of David Spicer and is an accomplished musician on both instruments. Over the last nine years, Mark has traveled between China, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, and the United States, both teaching music, and playing church services.


Yury began studying the violin when he was five years old. He trained with the renowned Boris Gutnikov and as he advanced, received specialized schooling in the St. Petersburg Conservatory, eventually graduating with a Bachelors and Masters of Arts in Violin Performance, Orchestra, Ensemble and Education. Yury later moved to the USA, where he performed as the lead violinist in several orchestras, as well as lecturing for the Department of Music in University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He has performed as a solo artist along the entire eastern seaboard of the USA and now looks to expand his performance career in Asia.
