李尔杨(Li er yang)
Lee is a young avant-garde musician based in Beijing.
He draws influence from 60’s and 70‘s’ musicians like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Kraftwerk.....
In 2013 he formed his first band in the university, where he covered songs of Led Zeppelin and wrote his own Blues music.
During the two years of 2015 and 2016, he paid tribute to Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen and Pink Floyd, rendering their songs with his arrangements.
Lee proficiently uses a delay/loop to create psychedelic and concise music, sometimes with distinct ancient Chinese music style.
January 2017 saw Lee release an experimental guitar album 《one》(《一》), intending to explore the possibilities of music playing. (The idea behind this album stems from the philosophy of Dugu Qiubai (Loner Who Seeks Defeat), a fictional character from the Wuxia novels by Jin Yong. Nicknamed "Sword Devil" to reflect his prowess in and devotion to the practice of swordplay, he attains the philosophical level of "swordsmanship without a sword", meaning that he uses swordplay techniques in combat without the physical existence of a sword. His most famous quote: After the age of 40, I was no longer hampered by any weapon. Grass, trees, bamboos and rocks can all be my swords. Since then, I have developed my skills further, such that gradually I can win battles without reaching for weapons.)
