This Sunday, we are very happy to welcome back exceptional Japanese keybordist JUNICHI NARUSE on stage on more time for an explosive and wild Jazz Sunday. This time, Naruse will be presenting a compact Jazz trio completed by Dolphin on guitar and Izumi Koga on drums.
Japanese born organist Junichi Naruse has been entertaining Jazz organ fans in his home country for the past 25 years. He established his style by listening to great organists, selecting compositions from his idols such as Jimmy Smith, Don Patterson, and Larry Young for this recording session. He visited Mumbai, India Nov 2013 to perform at the JusJazz Festival and recorded this first CD "Acha". Because Junichi also loves Hindustani music, he also made good collaborations with Hindustani musicians and/or compositions. In this recording, you can listen to the sitar, sarod, tabla and a traditional Indian vocal. Besides, he recorded a second album in Shimonoseki, Japan, called "Talkin".
Come to meet Mr. Naruse at Modernista this Sunday!
Please, also remember that Sunday jazz is aimed to be quietly listen to, and the artists will appreciate that you keep a moderate tone of voice while the performance last.
