On November 1st at 7:00pm the Performing Arts Center will vibrate with the distinct sound of Jazz as we welcome the Beijing Jungle Big Band to Keystone’s JAZZ NIGHT. The Beijing Jungle Big Band was China’s first real big band and is composed of professional musicians on saxophones, trombones, trumpets, and a full rhythm section complete with piano, bass and drums. Opening for the Beijing Jungle Big Band will be Keystone’s own Groove Train, a faculty band composed of teachers across all divisions of the school.
Jazz spread around the world a century ago from its humble beginnings in New Orleans, USA, and as it did so drew inspiration from various national, regional, and local music traditions. It is, in many ways, a celebration of the fusion of many cultures finding opportunities for expression through music.
Keystone’s JAZZ NIGHT will honor both the heritage of Jazz and look toward the future as we showcase new music inspired by traditional Jazz forms. Come join us for a fun night of music that is appropriate for all ages. Tickets are 200rmb for Adults and 100rmb for Students and Keystone Faculty/Staff. You can pick them up Thursday, October 25 or Tuesday, October 30th at Secondary School Reception 3:00pm-5:00pm.
