This Friday Tango Union will be holding an Argentine Tango class for absolute beginners in Guomou with the 2016 US Tango Champion, Adam Cornett.

Adam Cornett has 19 years of Tango experience. He was commissioned to be the regular teacher of Tango at MIT, Brown, Yale, and NorthWestern universities and also taught workshops at Harvard and Florida State. Adam has traveled the world teaching Tango and is now offering classes in Beijing.

This is the first class in an 8 class series which is what we call Beginner Lvl 1. After completing this step you move on to Beginner Lvl 2 and then into our intermediate classes.

The classes are held on Wednesdays and Fridays in San Li Tun and Guomou (respectively). Classes will be held in English and a chinese interpreter will be present. This friday the class is at Jianwai Soho building 6 floor 9 room 0901.

A bit about tango:

Argentine Tango is a social dance where we come together and dance with one another throughout the night. It originated in Argentina in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The music we listen and dance to is from the 1930's to 1960's.

Tango is an elegant dance that requires no acrobatic abilities. It is a true lead and follow dance and instead of simply learning patterns you will learn how to lead and how to follow so you can be as creative as you like.

Tango is open to everyone of all ages.

Come dressed comfortably able to move around and if you have shoes with a slicker bottom, it is better than rubber bottomed shoes.

If you are interested in learning but the class schedule does not fit with you, Adam also teaches private lessons. If you are interested in taking private classes you can contact him directly:
