Fenaki Beijing Animation Week is an animation festival project organized and planned by Chinese animation artists, educators and curators who have the most frequent exchanges with international animation festivals. It was successfully held for the first time in 2019. Fenaki's name comes from the Chinese translation of Phenakistoscope: Fenakistoscope-an ancient animation toy from the West, which is a local interpretation of foreign culture by people who love animation in China.

In 2020, Fenaki Beijing Animation Week is firmly ushering in its second edition. In addition to the high-level main competition unit selected by 5 professional judges from 601 animation short films from all over the world, the organizing committee also invited the internationally renowned animation art curator Goben Schmer, as the animation week The audience planned 3 selected animation shows from Europe.

The organizing committee’s various units curated the crowd and worked together. Within 5 days of the animation week (November 18-22), a total of 18 high-level animation short film screenings were planned. In the interval between the screenings, there were also many shortlisted events. The director shares salons, academic lectures and art fairs.
