With the brightening of situations within China, WOMEN IN MEDIA CHINA x NOVA UNIVERSAL have decided to seize the moment and host their first film screening with CINKER PICTURES. Nestled in the plush ambiance of Cinker’s private cinema, we bring you a communal movie experience like never before.

MUDBOUND (2017), directed by Dee Rees and cinematography by Rachel Morrison, will be screened at the event. The movie tells a story of two men who return home from World War II to work on a farm in rural Mississippi, where they struggle to deal with racism and adjusting to life after war. The director of photography Rachel Morrison took home the award for Best Cinematography, while director Dee Rees won the award for Best Original Adaption at the 90th Academy Awards. They were both the first women to be nominated for these categories at the Oscars.
