Huang Sijia (Yiyi) is a young jazz pianist and singer. Born into a family of music in 2001, he is currently studying jazz piano performance at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He studied under Professor Cui Honggen of the Central Conservatory of Music and Professor Zhang Fang of Yamaha artist during the domestic high school. In 2015, he won the third place in the University of Utah Piano Competition, the first place in the Youth Group A of the Brandenburg International Piano Competition, and the third place in the 2016 National Yamaha Scholarship Concerto Competition. In 2017, he was admitted to the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for the classical piano major and was under the guidance of classical musician Awadagin Pratt. I was deeply influenced by jazz music in school, and transferred to the Department of Jazz Studies (Jazz Piano Performance) in 2019 to study with jazz musicians Steve Allee, Sergio Pamies, Christian Li (李谭林) and Michael Clement. Cooperated with a number of jazz musicians-Aaron Jacobs, Phil DeGreg, Craig Bailey, Scott Belck, and was selected as the blue note combo in the school. In 2021, he was admitted to the jazz piano major of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. While studying in the United States, I constantly explored my own music style. Her performance and singing are full of her cute and casual attitude. Someone once commented on her singing: in her, I saw the shadow of Sarah Vaughan and Julie London, but her own characteristics are even more vivid in the performance.
