Effective April 26, 2021, the United States Embassy in China released "Information for nonimmigrant visa applicants regarding National Interest Exceptions for Certain Travelers from China". This means that students enrolled in American schools who are now in China are not subject to the travel restrictions under Presidential Proclamations. This enables students to travel to the United States for academic programs that start on or after August 1, 2021.
Based on this announcement, students from different countries, including China, who originally planned to start school in the United States in the fall of 2021 can now study in the United States. Naturally, students and parents are likely to have many concerns regarding student safety and navigating US travel requirements during these difficult times. This Webinar is intended for parents and students to hear from expert speakers on travel and student safety.
Lisa Buzenas, Director of Public Engagement and Director of the Beijing American Center from the U.S. Embassy Beijing will provide a pre-departure orientation for students traveling to the US. US airlines and educational institutions representative also will provide valuable information about travel safety, quarantine requirements for returning students, and guidelines/best practices to ensure student safety while in the US.
There also will be a Q&A session for our experts to address any concerns and questions that you may have about US travel policies and student safety.
