Li Qun has a grimy charm that many others would do well to replicate. It's akin to eating in a shanty town but why would a cockroach or two wandering around put anyone off? Be fair, they aren't on the food. It is a little bit ghetto but that's to it's credit and perfect for out of town visitors. Plus, the food has been great on every visit. The only downside is that it's getting a little bit less off the beaten track than it used to be as it's neighbourhood gets torn down. It's worth a visit just to look at the photos of former diners and get a picture of a Beijing prior to its pretentiousness.
