I went to this place for the first time over the weekend and had a really great time. The food was tasty and very reasonably priced. What really grabbed me, though, was the atmosphere.
In Beijing you get so used to surly service, or waitresses yelling "Welcome" at you in unison before ignoring you for the rest of your meal, that it's a shock when you're actually greeted with a smile and a genuinely friendly manager.
Everything about about this place was inviting, from the chatty staff to the wooden roof and furniture to the cute dog who sleeps in a basket in the corner.
It's not the best Japanese food I've ever had, but it was very decent and the dining experience is great. There were lots of Japanese people eating here too, which is a good sign.
