Nestled unobtrusively between nondescript bike shops and rental stores, Waiting for Godot is easily missed by the lazy stroller. Keep an eye out for the strangely shallow storefront overflowing with shelves of artsy books, writing tools, and...canned tomato sauce? The eclectic nature of this café/bar/hip haunt is undeniable. I've found some great (affordable) vinyl, the complete works of Charles Mingus on CD, and some trusty, hand-stitched journals--not to mention a fine array of tobacco treats.
The food I haven't tried, but Godot's drinks have never failed to titillate the taste buds. Aromatic, frothy cappuccinos aren't exactly common fare in China and it's nice to find a locale where they're served with a smile!
(the Belgian beers are good too...a lower price and/or happy hour might be nice though)
