Review of Summer Palace
ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED by the price at the end of the meal. Of course, this is partly my fault for not clarifying that the menu charges are per person and not per serving/dish ordered.
For a very mediocre meal, damage was 1250rmb for 3 ppl. Service was ok, but again, for that amount of money, I expect a shoeshine.

You can get a shoeshine for 2 Yuan if you bargain hard.

What exactly did you expect to pay? You walk into a 5-star hotel and just over 400 rmb per person is too much for you? Maybe you should avoid hotels, because that's already a pretty good deal. Try some other luxury hotels next time and maybe you will expect to stay for free?!
I've had dinner at this place before and it was very good. Price was very reasonable too.

I have paid much more at other restaurants and comparatively for the money, Summer Palace doesn't cut it.
You are entitled to your own opinion but might do well to further develop your palate first.
