This used to be one of the best little joints in Wudaokou, even despite the funny name. Man how things have changed, what the heck happened?
At one time they had a great and inexpensive daily lunch buffet, that was always packed. They had interesting art on the walls, it was comfortable, they had friendly staff and you always knew what to expect from the food-which was decent Italian and salads. I went there today and the place has practically fallen into ruins.
First, they have given up their buffet, lord knows why, because it was their big money maker, and being in a big office building, the local workers as well as many Korean and western foreigners always went there. But even without the buffet the food used to be good. Today there was only one other couple in their for lunch while I was there. The staff is now down to one dirty and surly young boy, who can barely be bothered to grunt out one sentence. The place is messy,dark, and the food quality has gone way down-although all of the prices have been raised (no need to make a new menu, they just slapped new stickers on the old prices...). There was an old shopping cart sitting in their, junk piled up in one corner, and had all of the charm and gaiety of a funeral home. What a shame.
Someone just decided to completely stop caring, and has just thrown the towel in.
