Nine of us recently went to the Saddle for a meal, and it was pretty good.
In terms of food, Im sure a mexican person would not be impressed, but for us its decent. The Fajitas came out sizzling on a hot plate, and were tasty and filling. Its a shame about the 'guacamole' with included about 1% avocado, but it did provide a good game 'hunt the avocado!
The other dishes also seemed good, such as the tacos which were fried, with beef in the middle and a delicious cheese sauce on top. Also the food is fairly cheap, tacos, enchiladas etc come in around 60 rmb, and the Fajitas at 80 Rmb.
However the real selling point is the atmosphere. Its quite big with a few large tables, so a big group should fit in easily, also there's a large outside terrace which is great in the summer. Its usually lively and a good place to start a night out.
If your there for the happy hour this is sure to make you even more 'lively' as the cocktail seemed to contain just alcohol.
The staff were generally fine, but where abit slow sometimes, and hard to attract their attention, but it was quite busy at the time. Also not many of the staff seemed to speak much English, so you might struggle with a detailed order if your Chinese isn't up to scratch.
However adopt the Standard 'wo yao zhe ge' while pointing at the menu and you should be fine.
