I've only been to the branches in Wudaokou and The Place. The Place location has good service and a clean, nicer decor compared to Wudaokou. Wudaokou seems more authentic Indian with a weird dingy smell and a bathroom that's too close to tables. However, none of that stops me from going to the Wudaokou location.
I usually get some butter chicken, a random choice of paneer, Estrella or Kingfisher beer and, of course, garlic naan. Sometimes the naan is kinda soggy at Ganges but I guess it's hit and miss. It doesn't seem to happen regularly. Food is good but portions aren't big. I guess they want to let us savor the flavor and save us from ourselves in case we overindulge on heavy curry.
I have no real complaints with this place and haven't experienced bad service like others and haven't seen bugs in my food. I will say nicer locations have nicer service, but that's expected. And if you want to try somewhere else, I'd recommend Masala, which is right off Nanluoguxiang.
