I will tell you why I care if you can't understand it.

Thebeijinger is a resource where one can find out lots of valuable information about the community-where to shop, where to dine, finding apartments, etc...Its one of the best outlets for knowing what's in, and what's up in town for foreigners and Chinese alike.

When the integrity of this resource is impeded, by bogus rental ads, bogus restaurant reviews, fake selling ads, scams,and the like-it makes the website much less useful and reliable.

Have you ever responded to apartment ads in thebeijinger? Half the time the ads are pictures of apartments that don't exist, so when you go to see the apartment, they show you other useless crap instead-hoping that you won't care that they just wasted an hour of your time chasing a fake advertisement.

So I disagree with you that its anal to try and weed out the bogus bullshit on this site. Its useful, its considerate to others who use this site, and its a service to all others who may wish to find true, accurate information here.
