Last week I nearly collapsed while having my tooth extracted in this dental clinic run by Ms Jane Zhang. Zhang hammered, administered anasthetics thrice and tore my gums and jaws for over two hours but couldn't extract the tooth. I started sweating profusely, she kept on hammering until I raised my left hand and asked her to stop. By then her assistant, an elderly nurse suggested checking my blood pressure readings. It was very high. Her attitude changed and she said that she wouldn't continue until I went to a hospital to check why my blood pressure rose sharply. It NEVER occured to this woman that her method of extraction had caused enough discomfort to put my nervous system in disarray, hence my blood pressure rose sharply. This was my first ever visit to a dentist in my life. Looking back now, I'm happy she didn't continue with the extraction. On way home I kept on thinking about her closing remarks. I later learned that it is very possible for a patient to die while extracting a wisdom tooth. I also read that hammering endlessly could cause serious damage to the maxillary sinus, which if infected could become a deadly complication.
Anyway, the aftermath of my deadly appointment with this dentist is why I'm re-posting a review.
After my first review, she called me and started begging me to take down the review, that she didn't do anything wrong and her business was at risk. By this time the toll of all the pains and headaches and even greenish phlegm discharging from my stuffy nose, fever, can't open my mouth, eat or get to work, sleepless nights and extra spending on drugs etc became my woes. Even as I'm writing this i.e (6 days after)I'm still experiencing all those post-failed-wisdom-tooth-extraction issues mentioned here. I expected dentist Zhang to share some of my discomfort or cushion my drug bills but she saw it coming and dogded that one, she claimed she's been hammering and extracting teeth for fifteen years but mine was different. Meaning that I deserved every pain and sorrow resulting from the failed extraction. I was amazed at her reaction and priorities. My wife quietly asked her to stop calling us after she wanted me to come back to her clinic for more show of delinquency.
I'm now on painkillers and some other drugs, waiting for the gums, entire left side of my skull and broken tendons and other infections to heal. The greenish phlegm discharge will need to see a nose/ear doctor by tomorrow to determine level of infection i.e extra bills.
She kept on saying that she didn't do anything wrong. All she cared was the review about her shop on thebeijinger.com. So, I thought, what if I'd fainted at her clinic? And how would the authorities react? I'm guessing she'll still be decieving more people about her qualifications and skills via this website.
So, I've decided to put up this second review as a warning to all intending patients. PLEASE AVOID JOINWAY DENTAL CLINIC AT ALL COSTS! I HIGHLY DISRECOMMEND THIS JOINT. BEWARE OF THE FAKE REVIEWS ABOUT THEM HERE! I FELL FOR THE FAKE REVIEWS AND I HAVE THE SCARS TO SHOW FOR IT!

Re: Failed Tooth Extraction At Joinway Dental Clinic. I ...
Hi, sarahjoe! (odd moniker for a guy?? anyway...)
I would recommend going to SOS International Dental Clinic and seeing Dr. Kashani... He did a wisdom tooth extraction for one of my friends--an extraction which was a "special case". She went to him after she had a very odd infection set in, causing an extremely high fever. She had originally tried going to the Sino-Japanese Hospital to get help with the pain and fever three times, saw three different doctors and received three different diagnoses. (Granted, it was over the May Day holiday, so the hospital was on reduced staff, making it impossible to see the same doc.)
After great frustration there and an increasingly high fever, I dragged her to SOS, which she'd been avoiding because of the higher cost. Well, in the long run, she paid the same amount in one visit that she'd paid in three visits to Sino-Japanese--but in that one visit, the problem was diagnosed and she was admitted for immediate surgery. Problem solved. Recovery was painful, but, well, it was at least a normal.
I now recommend SOS over local medical/dental clinics; yes, you pay through the nose there, but you get a real diagnosis and an actual solution when you go. No messing around with "come back tomorrow and we'll try again", which I and countless friends have been told at local medical establishments.

I tried Joinway once and that idiot almost cut my tongue. I don't know what she was trying to do. I had a root canal done there and I don't think she did a very good job. I will just go to Thailand for dental work. At least they know wha they are doing there.

the fact that you've never been to the dentist in your life is amazing in itself.
anyway, your dental surgeon may or may not have been competent, but i can tell you that what you exprerienced is pretty much what to expect when getting your wisdom teeth pulled. i did this in the u.s. , and my insurance only covered local anesthetic (so couldnt be unconscious for the operation).
i remember thinking it seemed so barbaric- pretty much a guy with his knee against your chest yanking, sawing, hammering...you can hear the bones cracking throughout. so, like i said, i certainly dont know the situation re. your dentist's ability, but what you described is pretty much as i remember the experience if you arent knocked out for the whole thrill ride.
it'd especially be no fun if this is the first dental experience you've ever had- its far different than routine dental work (eg fillings, etc) and in fact, in the u.s. i was referred by my dentist to a dental surgeon to have this done.
let us know your experience in the next place you go, but be forewarned, it could very well be more of the same.

Dear Mr. Egbuniwe,
I was concerned about the situation with your tooth after you left on that day, but somehow we didn’t get any chance to speak to each other directly. Reading this review is the only way I get to know how you feel.
First of all, I feel sorry about your suffering. I totally understand why you feel frustrated. I stopped the surgery because of your high blood pressure which was caused by your serious nervousness and discomfort since you did an unsuccessful wisdom tooth extraction in another dental clinic 2 days before.
You are warmly welcome to Joinway Dental Clinic. Let's see what we both can do for your tooth. Mrs. Egbuniwe knows my 24 hours phone # as I gave it to her on the same day. The reason I gave the number was because I wanted to make sure everything was alright.
Looking forward to see you again.

Jane Zhang, I restrain from abusing you because I'm not a child.
Re: Failed Tooth Extraction At Joinway Dental Clinic;
Before meeting Zhang, I had earlier called her on the phone and talked about how I did an x-ray with another doctor the day before after washing my teeth there. My wisdom tooth had no problem except that it chewed on my cheeks sometimes and extracting it might not have been the best solution. That dentist asked me to go to a more experienced Dentist, he didn't hammer my brains for over two hours. Then, I sought out Zhang, based on fake reviews about her here. Ms Zhang never asked why I wanted to remove the tooth or check to see if extracting the tooth was the best solution to an inflammed cheek caused by tooth jamming on it. She was more interested in the money I would pay. She went to work immediately on my tooth and FAILED after more than two hours of pain and anguish. I survived, thank God.
Before going to Joinway, I had an x-ray but I didn't try to extract tooth. Zhang was the first Dentist to ever try to extract my tooth and she messed it up.
I'm suffering from sinusitis at the moment and my tooth and surrounding gums are still swollen. I can barely open my mouth. My nose is always blocked and the phlegm is green and smelly. I doubt I'd be extracting any tooth in this situation.
The real bad news is that I would still suffer all these life threathening complications like Sinustitis, pains, fever, constant headache and stiffy nose whenever I'm able to open my mouth or decide to extract the tooth.
ZHANG, SHUT IT AND MOVE ON! LET THE TRUTH BE TOLD. YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT LIVES, YOU CARE ABOUT MONEY. YOUR METHOD OF HAMMERING FOR OVER TWO HOURS CAN KILL SOMEONE.
