Review of Avocado Tree

While my experience occurred last night at the Pinnacle Plaza location in Shunyi, I think these are all under a single operator. After a tradeshow I decided to take my client for a quick burrito. As we watched them add all the fixings he noticed something moving on the lettuce. When I told the server he picked it off and threw it quickly on the ground and said it was part of a tomato. Then we noticed another movement and he handed me the bin of shredded lettuce. Sure enough a leech-like worm crawling all over the lettuce. The server then walked in the back and would not come out. Young Chinese guy who did not know what to do. The other two gentlemen in our group had already eaten through half of their meals at this point but we picked up and walked out without paying. Unfortunately this will be my third and last visit to the Avocado Tree. Unbelievable to me that it happened and that the guy tried to deny it!

Hello, my name is Chelsea. I’m the owner of the Avocado Tree restaurants in Shunyi and San Yuan Qiao. Upon reading this review on the beijinger, I immediately investigated the problem. I was upset to learn that the problem cited by this customer was true.

First and foremost, I apologize to our customer who had that experience, and to all of our loyal customers, as this is not the standard we set at the Avocado Tree. I am very disappointed in myself and in my team that this happened. We take our pledge to deliver healthy food of the highest quality to our customers seriously. I promise you that we have addressed the problem.

Secondly, I encourage all of our customers to help us ensure that we maintain the highest standards. We aim to do better so you can eat better. Wtf is your problem dude? Someone's talkin bout worms in their lettuce and ur advice is to stop teaching english? Dude, I think it's bout time you get outta China, clearly ur brain has been warped. Someone's dining experience has nothing to do with their job, but u seem to imply his opinion is sh*t because he's obviously a teacher? Wow dude, that's some freud-esque logic ur so proud of, penis envy anyone? clearly petepete is suffering from it.

I got Avocado Tree's side, sometimes gross things happen, not the fault of the restaurant that their supplier had contaminated goods, and they're unlucky enough to have it become a story. And not the fault of the consumer for being unlucky enough to get it.

But petepete, no excuse for ur disgusting behavior, u must've been a teacher who was wronged or lost the love of ur life to a "pathetic" eng. teacher. Poor guy, i've been reading comments for a while now, and everytime i come across petepete's it's sth negative about all other foreigners but him, haha what's ur job bro? What are u so proud of? I'm calling you out petepete, wtf do u do that let's u rip on anyone without ur job? Let's hear it man, u been talking trash for long enough, back urself up, what makes u better than an educator, better than a freelance worker, better than any employed person? And let's hear u talk the same garbage in any other country. Loser, prob too coward to even reply.

Props to Avacado Tree for stepping up and even putting her personal phone number out there. Great example of how an owner should act. I go to Avacado Tree in San Yuan Qiao quite a bit as my office is right accross the street. After reading the post about the worms I was a little turned off. BUT...after reading chelsea's response, I won't hesitate to keep eating there. Well done!
