I had to have a wisdom tooth removed, and I wanted to make sure I went to a good dentist, having never had a tooth removed, and not sure what the experience would be like.
I stumbled upon Oasis browsing The Beijinger, and I was very pleased with the professionalism and accommodation they had to offer. The interior is very nice, almost like a hotel lobby than a hospital, and the staff was very nice, especially Dawn, the secretary.
I saw Dr. David Lee. He was kind enough to waive the fee to see me initially when I saw him to inquire about a tooth pull. I had my own x rays, so he was able to tell me immediately what I needed to do, and hoe much it would cost a chump like me with no insurance. I am ignorant to the other prices in Beijing, or dentists in the states, but it was around 1400 RMB to get the tooth out, with a dose of Novocaine or whatever to the gums. To me, that seemed to be a fair price, and he had a sheet with other procedures and prices, so I got the standard rate. Also, the tooth pull took about a half hour and was no big deal. Thought it would hurt, but practically no pain until later in the day. Just gave me some aspirin.
Dr Lee went to U of Maryland and Harvard Dental, so he has the credentials, and is easy to talk to. THe other staff was nice as well. For those with kids, they have some toys for them to play with
AND, I will be going back before Feb 13 or 15. They are running a special for cleaning for 300RMB. I highly recommend Oasis.
