There are so many options in Beijing now for cocktails (some really good, some just silly and pretentious) that I fear people are forgetting about the bar that really broke the ice and started it all. I'm not saying NO ONE made cocktails before Q Bar existed. I'm just saying that they set the standard and have continued to maintain it for years and even outdo it. Seriously there is a dizzying amount of bars now. If youre new to Beijing try Q out. Put aside the hype and just enjoy it for what it is. If you've been in town for a while and used to be a fan but have been drawn away by your fickle nature and the promises of something that new will amaze you, head back to Q try a drink youve never tried and be amazed.
Let it be known that this is a cockail bar and not a beer bar. Not a big selection of beer but a great selection of liquor that I'm pretty sure is the real deal. The staff are pretty friendly and aim to please, even if their English isn't always great. If you speak even a little Chinese though you will have no problem.
