I should have known this club was shady as soon as we arrived. We were hurried in through the entrance, then waited 10 minutes in no queue (why?) to check our coats, during which time we were 'shushed' by a bouncer - because how dare we speak loudly in a club. As the night continued, we enjoyed our "8" bottles of champagne, which turned out to be one bottle. Then I had the pleasure of a stalker-waiter who decided he'd grace me with the honour of holding my hand.
When we finally decided to leave, I noticed a friend of mine sat down on what looked like a big speaker. I went over to see her, then a bouncer came over and started yelling at her, grabbed her and dragged her off. I tried to help get him off her, which drew his attention to me. True, she probably shouldn't have been sat on there, but this guy hardly had cause to grab her like he did. Things quickly escalated and before I knew it, I was being dragged down three flights of stairs, grabbed round the throat and punched repeatedly in the face. I am now covered in bruises, of which I have photos, and am still in pain 5 days later. He also cracked my head into a wall, which left an egg-size lump and then threw me to the floor.
I've informed the embassy and will be filing a complaint. It's disgusting that they think it's acceptable to do that to a foreign woman and get away with it. It was unprovoked as I was simpy trying to take my friend away from the situation.
Don't go to this club. Aside from it being staffed by thugs, they run scams and offers to get foreigners in, like most of the clubs up that way. The service is terrible and has the vibe of a Nazi prison camp. Avoid at all costs.

Re: Violent security staff
Sorry to hear about what sounds like a horrendous experience but I couldn't help but grimace at "It's disgusting that they think it's acceptable to do that to a foreign woman". How about, ya know, any woman?
Re: Violent security staff
My thought exactly. Did she not realize how offensive that comment was when she wrote her description?
Re: Violent security staff
In her defense, the bouncers punch a Chinese girl NEVER in this situation. Hard to believe they punched her repeatedly in the face unprovoked, because I have seen and done some stuff that deserved a punch in the face and never got one.
Re: Violent security staff
I bet this story happened exactly as Loren tells it.
