The heart and soul of Sanlitun bar street

1f is not a really special bar. It doesn't have great drinks. It doesn't have great food. It is noisy, crowded, and often filled with people that you wouldn't really want to talk to. It also doesn't say anything to the contrary. It has a good happy hour with a decent range of beers on tap (Tsingdao, Hoegaarden, Stella, Leffe, Guiness). Food is half price on Mondays and nothing is spectacular, but everything is OK. Service is quite good and fast. Prices are fair to cheap for the area. 1f has everything that Sanlitun has: you want a quieter, slightly classier bar? Go upstairs to 2f. You want a good view of the city? Go to the rooftop of 5f/6f. You want a burger/salad/indonesian/pasta/mexican/steak/fish? They have that. You want to talk to girls/guys that might be interested in you? They will be there. You want to pay to sleep with girls? They will also be there. You want to meet a guy from east Africa that will sell you something naughty? They are around. You want to dance? Go ahead, they crank the music at around 9pm (and the music is way better than most places). You want to smoke? Go outside with the other 200 people. I have been to this bar more than anywhere, and I keep going back. If you don't like 1f, you basically don't like Sanlitun.
