On my quarterly lunch visits to Hooters, there has rarely been more than one other table of two people dining there. Perhaps there is a dinner or drinking crowd that sustains it, but it's hard to see how this place manages to stay open.
During my most recent visit, there was exactly one waitress working the lunch shift, this for a restaurant in a building that has offices above it, and is easy walking distance from Sanlitun and nearby residences like International Wonderland and Xingfu Ercun, which have far better dining options that are even closer.
The food isn't bad, and actually the portion size and price are quite reasonable. If anything the whole Hooters package works against them, adding a tawdriness to what is otherwise a bog-standard American franchise menu. It's too their credit that they've remained open in the same location for eight years, but it's difficult to imagine they'll still be around by the end of 2016.
