Experience life in Taoist Monastery; explore Dao through Taoist martial arts (Taichi, Wujiquan), Taoist traditional music, calligraphy, tea ceremony and more. Find your inner balance, calm down your mind and heart in a place surrounded by beautiful mountains.



September 2-3; 2 days 1 night retreat - Saturday morning to Sunday Evening

Price including traditional style high quality training uniform (580RMB), accommodation, 3 main vegetarian meals a day plus snacks, Taichi and Wujiquan training with two certified 6th degree Chinese martial arts teachers, Taoist culture classes (tea ceremony, zither, calligraphy, Chinese medicine,…) with Taoist priests and certified teachers, English translation during the whole stay.



Location:Fangshan District Fozizhuang Village (about an hour and half ride from Beijing city center)



Accommodation: standard room in Zhenwu Monastery, with two beds toilet and shower.



Schedule:


Saturday 8:30AM meeting in front of White Cloud Temple, arrival to Zhenwu Monastery at 10:00-10:30AM. Organizer reserve the right to adjust the schedule and content of culture classes. Culture classes are thought by Taoist priests and sometimes we need to adjust to their schedule.



Saturday:


Introduction of Zhenwu Temple (tour and incense burning for protection) 11:15 - 12:00 AM



Lunch 12:15 PM



Afternoon Training (Taichi and Wujiquan) 2:30-4:00PM



Culture class (tea ceremony, Taoist classics and talk about Dao) 4:00-5:45PM



Dinner 6:00 PM



Culture class (guqin – Chinese zither, calligraphy) 7:30-9:00 PM



Sunday


Qigong (Six healing sounds or Eight pieces of brocade) 6:30-7:30 AM



Breakfast 7:50 AM



Morning Training (Taichi form) 9:30-11:00 AM



Volunteer work in Temple (sweeping, and cleaning work) 11:15 - 12:00 AM



Lunch 12:15 PM

Teachers’ introduction



Head instructor: Dong Lidan


Dong Lidan, 15th generation successor of Wudang Xuanwupai, founder of the Crane Clan. Started to practice martial arts when she was 6 years old. By the age of 8, fate brought her to Wudang Mountains. Master Dong has mastered the essence of Taichi, and can explain it in simple easy to understand way. Master Dong holds 6th degree in Chinese martial arts, and is 1st degree national level referee for Chinese martial arts. Wudang Martial arts Bureau appointed her as Baotou City Wudang Martial arts Association Chairman.

Marian Lassak, 8th generation successor of Taoist Wujiquan, founder of European Center of Chinese Culture and Martial Arts Wujiquan. Bronze medalist from 2012 5th World Traditional Wushu Championship, 2013 Slovak National Wushu Championship 80kg up Push hands and Sanda champion, 2015 4th Wudang Martial Arts Competition Push hands and forms gold medalist. Holder of 6th degree in Chinese martial arts.
