Here at Caravan, we're honored to be hosting one of a kind photo exhibition dear to our heart and our origin: Tbourida: The Fantasia of Morocco. Join us Saturday at 5:00 pm for a small reception to learn more about the art of Tbourida by photographer and Talent extraordinaire, John Horniblow.

The evening will include a small performance of Moroccan Songs by Moor Hick as well as a special Moroccan Meal, crafted by Caravan Owner and Head Chef, Badr Benjelloun

Tbourida也叫做“粉末游戏”, 是摩洛哥传统而深受欢迎的马术项 目, 它起源于古代摩洛哥战场令人畏惧的勇敢的骑兵们。 Tbourida是一项集考验摩洛哥骑士与马匹速度, 耐力, 包容力, 操控 性的综合性活动。
每到节日来临, 摩洛哥郊外都会举行Tbourida活动, 这已成为过去 部落以及摩洛哥文化的象征。

Tbourida, also known as the ‘Powder game’, is a traditional and popular equestrian art inspired by the historical wartime attacks of the once feared and ercely brave cavalrymen of Morocco.
The colourful spectacle of Tbourida is a contest of speed, endurance, grace, discipline and manoeuvrability for Morocco’s horsemen and horses.
Tbourida is practiced across all rural areas of Morocco to celebrate national and religious moussem (holidays), as part of Morocco’s national cultural and the passed tribal identity of the country.

John Horniblow is a filmmaker, writer and photographer recently moved to Beijing. John's photography has been published with Time publications, Geo Mundo, National Geographic, Penguin books and many other periodicals. He is also the Founder, Editor in Chief and publisher of the online photo documentary magazine Photojournale. John trained as a cinematographer and has shot, directed and produced award winning short, television documentary and industrial films working with broadcasters such as BBC, SBS, and ABC.

Tbourida : The Fantasia of Morocco is a series of approximately 20 photographs describing and realising the depth, thunder, smoke and dust, colours, energy and spectacle of the Moroccan Tbourida. Shot at a number of moussem across Morocco including Moulay Abdullah, Moussem des Cerises Sefrou, Tissa and others. The work on exhibit is part of a selection for a pending book publication. The exhibition is sponsored by Safia 100% Pure Moroccan Argan Oil.

Tbourida 摩洛哥的幻想曲

John Horniblow是一个电影拍摄者，作者，以及摄像师。他最近搬到了北京，John的摄影作品曾在Time, Geo Mundo, National Geographic, Penguin 时报出版过。 摩洛哥的幻想曲是一个有大概20张摄影作品的一个摄影系列，它描绘着那些深奥，富有丰富色彩的，充满能量的摩洛哥Tbourida.

Moor Hick 乐队

Moor Hick started in 2016 as one of the city's weirdest band, fusing the sounds of North Africa and the old American south to create an entirely unique musical experience. Moor Hick consists of Micah McCauley on guitar/vocals, and Badr Benjelloun on percussions and vocals. While having performed at their home base of Caravan in Beijing’s embassy district they also hold the honor of playing the last show at legendary venue Old What? in Tiananmen before it closed in 2016.

In a short year, Moor Hick has established themselves on the scene playing various livehouses and even rocking out with various diplomatic core members.
