Their first Asian tour in 12 years, the Chick Corea Elektric Band will be performing twice a night (7:30pm and 10pm) on Friday 24 March and Saturday 25 March at the Blue Note Beijing.

The Chick Corea Elektric Band followed in the stadium-filling tradition of Corea’s first pioneering electric outfit, Return to Forever.After 1986’s self-titled debut album with John Patitucci (bass) and Dave Weckl (drums), the classic line-up began in 1987 when Eric Marienthal (saxes) and Frank Gambale (guitar) joined and recorded Light Years.

The Elektric Band quickly became the top electric jazz unit of the era with numerous world tours and eight albums under their collective belts -- through 2004's To the Stars as its most recent effort. The band’s influence can be heard today in countless jazz bands and beyond.

The fireworks of a live show with Chick and the E-band need to be experienced first hand to be believed.
