CREATE YOUR OWN INTELLIGENT CAR

From the electronic basics to its unique design. Build your car from A to Z

During this unique course, you will learn how to design an obstacle avoiding car by yourself, using the famous Arduino* electronics platform and an ultrasonic sensor to detect and avoid an object in front of the car.

*Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software.

1- Discover and build your electronic circuit:

During the workshop, each electronic function needed will be teached and experimented by every students.

- What is Arduino and the different components of a circuit (CPU, breadboard, sensors, motors..)

- What is the ultrasonic detection principle

- Understand the control of the wheels

In order to facilitate the understanding of electronics, the teachers will make analogies with natural phenomenons and real objects to open the children horizons and give a better understanding of the notions explored during the class.

2- Design and imagination:

You have a automotive platform, it can become a car or any crazy new automotive idea!

Atelier’s teacher will guide the students through a design process : finding ideas, looking for new shapes, choosing materials and creating new forms adapted to the vehicle constraint. We are quite eager to discover your ideas!

3- Coding notions:

At the end of the Workshop, young makers will be able to modify the code of their electronic device to give a personal touch to their car behavior.

This workshop is a simple & fun start to discover Arduino and electronics while learning notions of Design to innovate and imagine new forms.

The teacher:

Sebastien Thomas is joining Atelier’s team to open Atelier Fablab.

First journey in Asia in 1999, Sebastien was absorbed by his fascination for China and his passion of new inventions.

A great enthusiast of new technology, he decides to settle down at Beijing with his wife and two children in 2015. For ten years, he has been working within a big international Engineering company, from numerical simulation to engineering team leader. He decided to launch l’Atelier FabLab of Beijing in 2016 together with Atelier Art school.
