Zhang Xiongguan is one of the most influential young jazz guitarists and composers in China. He now teaches at the Shanghai Conservatory. He and his quartet are joined by rising star, 23 year old jazz guitarist Xu Zhihan, who studied at the German Osnabrueck Conservatory of Music and won the Best Composer Award at the Music of Charles Mingus competition in Wurzburg.
