The artists Zhang Yanna and Huanghe both take different approaches to their work, but each focuses on problems of language. Zhang Yanna explores what goes into paintings – highly conceptualized images – and what stays out or remains “silent.” Huanghe explores the sense of uncertainty a creator feels when he moves onto a new work.
