Bai Family Mansion
Haidian’s “official cuisine” restaurant features staff clad in traditional Qing Dynasty garb and a charmingly secluded garden courtyard. What is “official cuisine”? Essentially it’s court fare that wasn’t good enough for the emperor – his imperial majesty’s leftovers. Occasional entertainment is provided by Chinese opera singers and a "face changing" artist.

Expect higher standards than at your regular ten-pin dive, with eight immaculately maintained lanes and an army of helpful and friendly staff. Smallest shoe size is 35, though, so this is a good choice for big kids only.

Built by well-known Hong Kong filmmaker See-Yuen Ng, this five-floor building is known for its state-of-the-art equipment, clean environment, and screenings of the latest foreign movies. Its biggest claim to fame, literally, is a 430 square meter screen. RMB 30-120.
