The decor at Southern Barbarian is really nice: good lighting, cool art on the walls, and refined aesthetics. The food, accordingly, is a little pricier than other yunnan places, but not any better. If you want ambiance, go here, but there are certainly better yunnan places in town and with yunnan style aesthetics.

What are Yunnan aesthetics?

Everyone who goes down there or a few days comes back with the impression that Yunnan aesthetics are like long, wavy hippy robes...big elaborate hats and colorful ethnic stuff.

Thats just the touristy stuff. Yunnan aesthetics are the same as everywhere else...unless you can put mountains in the restaurant
