Actually, I think it's just the high rent and lack of customers causing Nathans all this trouble. While high traffic volume, good food, and great personal service keeps Holy Fries going, Nathans can't survive maybe for just one or all of these. But... Beijing needs Nathans, and all others, it just does not need fake reviews.

LOL. I love that the day after Kristen Slum comes on and tells us that all of these mysterious one review, 5 star givers are legit, all of those reviewers come back today and write 4 or 5 reviews for other restaurants!

My goodness, woman. You and your team are totally see-through at this point.

So explain then why the people who posted one review, gave you 5 stars then vanished... decided to come back the day you, personally saw that the readers of this site are not stupid and can smell fake reviews a mile away... and immediately posted several reviews each, in succession to get their post numbers up and make them look less suspicious?

Maybe you should just stay away from the internet and let your crappy restaurant do the talking for itself.

Seriously though, at one point there were only negative reviews on this site, the first 3 were all one and 2 star reviews, this is a view which is shared by everyone I have ever known who has eaten at Nathan's.

Suddenly, once or twice a week a new person would join this site just to give 5 stars, write a clinical review of this place and then vanish never to be heard from again. At one point there were 7 reviews in quick succession with 1 post/5 stars. This is something that never happens on this site or any other. Look at other popular restaurants and see how much more realistic and varied the reviews are.

So then... Kristen Slum comes back to the site, notices that everyone is jumping on her fake reviews and defends them with arguments like "I met that Phoebe girl who reviewed us, we are both from LA so I guess we have the same writing style but she is not me!"

Then that night, all of the mysterious 1 post/5 star reviewers come back to post 5 or 6 reviews in a row of other venues so that they don't seem suspicious.

I have been reading this site for years and never felt the need to post anything or get involved but decided to start writing restaurant reviews. It pissed me off to see real reviews by people who have earned their place on this site as a genuine member of the drinking/dining community being pushed to the last page by endless fake reviews by people who don't understand marketing.

I am glad posters on this site, who spend a lot of time here are calling out obviously fake reviews, it keeps things fair, it's obvious there are no moderators on this site so someone has to do it.
