Inbetween trips to the nearest ice cream chest, there's a whole bunch of events to keep you busy this week. Moka Bro's get us going with their one-off Nordic Pop Up event, riding the smørrebrød throughout the day and into the early evening.
On Friday Bok Bok, one half of famed London-based Night Slugs label, brings some serious bass to Dada, while Swiss psytrance DJ Braincell graces Yugong Yishan with a mess of wifebeaters and neon geometrics. 2 Kolegas celebrate their ninth anniversary with two full days of local music and certain shenanigans. For something a little less in-your-face head to Zajia for collected sounds of Xinjiang in the form of Trans-Aeolian Transmission.
Saturday sees two culinary events: Ditan Park lays the setting for a Yunnanese long table feast with food, drinks and music provided by Hani Gejiu whereas the Fatface Cookathon asks wannabe chefs to cook-til-they-drop in the name of charity.
Bring on the evening with electro pop trio We Are Not Invited in School or relax with Li Daiguo as he manipulates instruments from across the globe with a classical touch.
Then, what better way to spend the day of rest than in The Hutong's courtyard for their Summer Fayre with food and drink provided by some of Beijing's best local producers. Alternatively, if you believe rest is for the wicked, make your way to Dangdai MOMA with an afternoon of Chinese handicrafts courtesy of C! Talk.
And that's all folks! Make sure to keep up-to-date with goings on by checking out our events page and through our weekly WeChat newsletter by subscribing to "theBeijinger". Also, keep on sending us those summer pics via Instagram #thebeijinger.
