Smog-Eating Tower Comes to Life, and May Be On It's Way to Beijing

Paris Hilton Set for Beijing Boombar Party on October 15

Celebrity Paris Hilton will appear at Boombar, the newly-opened Beijing outlet of the Korean nightclub chain, on October 15 at an event entitled "Glam Night," the Beijinger has learned.

"Beijing's first international star socialite private party, as long as 3880 can experience the high society of corruption in the TV drama," Boombar said in a WeChat post. Translated from Chinglish, that means the entry price is RMB 3,880.

Faster Internet in China? Yes Please

On Tuesday the Internet gods and whatever else is up there finally heard our prayers and gave in, as China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) urged telecommunication companies to lower Internet prices, and, drum roll please, elevate connection speeds. Yes!

According to Ecns, these targets need to be met by the end of the year, MIIT's Minister Miao Wei said Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the 2015 China International Information Communication Expo.
