Review of The Taco Bar
I used to be a big fan of the Taco Bar. The tacos are great and the food always arrives fairly quickly. I recently brought a Chinese friend with to San Li Tun to show him some of my favourite spots. I hadn't been to the Taco Bar in half a year, due to living on the west side of Beijing, so I was eager to start the night there. Disappointingly, the experience sucked. The food was still good, but the wait-staff was extremely unpleasant. Even my Chinese friend, who typically frequents venues that don't have world class service, was shocked and annoyed by the attitude of the waiters. Congratulations, you've lost a customer.

This definitely seems like an ongoing problem at Taco Bar (according to previous reviews on tbj). I've never encountered it myself (admittedly I haven't visited in over a year), but at group parties, the staff was always attentive and friendly and the goodwill free tequila always went down just fine.
It's a shame that many people have experienced otherwise because as you said, the food is pretty great. Apparently TB coasts on such strong word-of-mouth foot traffic (see: Trip Advisor) that management doesn't particularly care.

There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who like Taco Bar and La La Land and see the dress as white/gold. Everyone else.
