Lu Meimei in Sanlitun Soho features a simple and clean logo of a cartoon girl and houses several wooden tables, leather chairs, warm lights, and a generally modern feel. The kitchen serves an assortment of Chinese snacks – spicy chicken feet, duck neck, duck liver, lotus root, seaweed etc. – similar to those found at competitors like Jiujiuya, and Zhouheiya. The secret? They’ve done a lot of experimentation having traveled to several Chinese provinces before mastering the use of around 40-50 kinds of herbs to balance the flavor of each.
They also serve their signature corn cheese tea, Hoegaarden, Reberg, Delirium, and even a German-style wheat beer (5 percent ABV), a product of teaming up with Beijing's Dongli Brewery.
